2011 Ohio Feeder Calf Roundup News Release
A beautiful weekend welcomed exhibitors and prospective buyers to the 45th Ohio Feeder Calf Roundup weekend, September 24th and 25th, 2011. A total of 83 head of steers and heifers were shown on Saturday and sold on Sunday.
A 502 pound steer exhibited by Wood and Company, Bloomingdale, OH. was slected as Grand Champion and sold to Brian Goettemoeller, Winchester, Ind. for $8,250. The Reserve Champion steer was an entry from Jim Cooksey, Circleville and sold for $2,100 to Gerald Buhrow, Oak Harbor, OH.
In the heifer division Dale Schaal, Martins Ferry, OH. exhibited the Champion Heifer that sold for $3,250 to Menzie Cattle Co., Cambridge, OH.
The Reserve Champion Heifer exhibited by Chelsie Tooms, Cumberland, OH. sold for $1,800. to James Frieze, Grayson, Ky. An excellent crowd was in attendance from Ohio and neighboring states. The average for the 16 heifers was $1,442.19 and the 67 steers averaged $1,502.61.
